Burton Albion vs. Leyton Orient - prediction, team news, lineups

Burton Albion welcome Leyton Orient to Pirelli Stadium in the 16th gameweek of League One action on Saturday.

The home side lost their four-game winning run on Tuesday, while their London-based visitors continued their undefeated streak at Northampton Town.

Match preview

Burton Albion came unstuck at Carlisle United this week, losing 2-1 at Brunton Park after a four-game winning run.

Dino Maamria's team look to return to winning ways after the midweek defeat when they return to league action this weekend, and they have reason for optimism, having claimed 10 points from an available 12 at Pirelli Stadium.

The recent victories over Wigan Athletic, Cambridge United and Bristol Rovers saw the Albion rely on outscoring their opponents, even if they scored four times in the 4-1 triumph over Bristol last weekend.

The absence of home clean sheets has not gone unnoticed, and that inability to keep focused for a game's entirety could be detrimental on Saturday.

Nevertheless, Maamria will welcome success in any capacity as long as it sees his team return to claiming maximum points after Wednesday's setback.

Leyton Orient, Saturday's opponents at Pirelli Stadium, could leapfrog Burton in the table if maximum points are secured, an outcome that ended a two-game run without a victory.

However, the O's have remained unbeaten throughout October, even if they have failed to capitalise on Barnsley and Northampton having a player dismissed.

Richie Wellens's team did get a late equaliser at Northampton to secure a 2-2 draw after Kieron Bowie's 58th-minute dismissal.

Last year's League Two champions are faring commendably on their return to League One after eight years away, with only four points between them and sixth-placed Blackpool.

There is a long way to go in the competition, but staying in touching distance to the playoff spots remains doable if Leyton maintain the consistency shown so far.

Team News

Steve Seddon seemed to suffer an injury in Tuesday's defeat by Carlisle, potentially forcing Burton into a change at left-back, with Jack Caprice his replacement.

Beryly Lubala netted twice the last time Maamria's men were at the Pirelli, and the club's fans could be expectant this weekend.

Leyton Orient do not have any known injury problems, but Theodore Archibald could return to the starting lineup, replacing Rob Hunt.

Ruel Sotiriou has netted five times for the newly-promoted club, three more than the closest teammate, making the striker the away side's greatest threat.

Burton Albion possible starting lineup:

Crocombe; Hamer, Moon, Sweeney, Caprice; Powell; Baah, Helm, Oshilaja, Carayol; Lubala

Leyton Orient possible starting lineup:

Brynn; Cooper, Happe, Turns; Graham, Galbraith, Brown, Mizouni, Archibald; Pigott, Sotiriou

We say: Burton Albion 2-1 Leyton Orient

Saturday's game could end in a draw, but Burton's recent wont to outscore their opponents at the Pirelli could give the hosts the edge against Leyton Orient.
