Michael Schumacher has denied rumours that he is planning to retire again.

Michael Schumacher has insisted that he will continue racing for Mercedes GP next season.

The 42-year-old has quashed rumours that he was planning on retiring again after reports in an Italian newspaper claimed the German was considering stepping down from Formula One.

"I'll certainly be racing next year, that is definite," Sky Sports News quotes Schumacher as saying. "We will then have to see how things develop and how much energy and fun is still there.

"It would be presumptuous if one expects us to fight for the title next year, at the moment we are too far behind."

After making a comeback last year, Schumacher has failed to reach the podium and ranks 10th in the drivers' standings.
