New Jersey will host Grand Prix races starting in 2013.

New Jersey will play host to a Grand Prix from 2013, the Formula One's governing body has confirmed.

Reports have suggested that the circuit could run on a four-lane motorway alongside the Hudson River against the backdrop of the New York City skyline.

It would also offer fans and tourists easy accessibility to New York City hotels, restaurants, shopping and nightlife.

The United States of America will feature on the Formula One calendar for the first time since 2007 with next year's race in Austin, Texas.

F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is believed to be keen for the sport to be staged in America and with this announcement, two races will be held there each season.
