Saturday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Rangers vs. Celtic

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Scottish Premiership action, including the Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic.

Rangers vs. Celtic (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Rangers will host arch-rivals Celtic on Saturday afternoon in what could be a title-deciding match between the two teams, with Steven Gerrard's men hoping to continue their excellent form this campaign.

Although the hosts are currently 16 points ahead of their opponents in the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have three games in hand, and Neil Lennon will be hopeful of delivering Rangers' first loss of the season.

We say: Rangers 2-1 Celtic

It is hard to look past Rangers' spectacular form during the 2020-21 campaign, with the side still unbeaten in the league. Although Celtic have returned to winning ways, we expect the hosts to gain a narrow victory over their arch rivals this Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Hamilton vs. Motherwell (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Hamilton Academical will welcome Motherwell on Saturday as they hope to get their new year off to a positive start, with the hosts currently sitting at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat against Kilmarnock on Wednesday as they sit just two points ahead of their opponents.

We say: Hamilton Academical 1-1 Motherwell

Currently, there is not much to separate the two sides, with Motherwell just two points ahead of Hamilton in the table. The visitors are also in poor form and the recent Robinson departure means they are unlikely to pick up a positive result this Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Aberdeen vs. Dundee Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aberdeen will welcome Dundee United in their first game of the new year, with the hosts currently on a six-match unbeaten run in the league.

United, meanwhile, will be hoping to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat against Celtic on Wednesday, having suffered their eighth league loss of the campaign.

We say: Aberdeen 1-0 Dundee United

Although United are just two places behind Aberdeen in the table, their recent form suggests they will not be able to pick up a win this Saturday. The hosts should have enough quality to secure the three points, however it may be a close encounter between the two teams.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Hibernian vs. Livingston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Hibernian are set to host Livingston on Saturday as they hope to get back to winning ways, following their disappointing 2-0 defeat against Ross County on Wednesday.

Livingston, on the other hand, are in superb form, having recorded their fourth league win on the bounce last Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock.

We say: Hibernian 2-1 Livingston

This should be a close encounter between two good sides, with Hibernian currently 12 points ahead of Livingston. Although the hosts have experienced a set of poor results in recent times, they will be desperate to get back to winning ways, therefore we expect them to secure a narrow win on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Kilmarnock vs. St Mirren (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer pictured on August 22, 2020© Reuters

Kilmarnock entertain St Mirren on Saturday afternoon after the hosts ended a run of five straight defeats last time out.

Building on that result will be a tough ask for Killie, though, as they face a St Mirren side currently enjoying a good run of form.

We say: Kilmarnock 1-2 St Mirren

Although Kilmarnock will be confident coming into this one after ending their poor run of form last time out, St Mirren have been impressive for a while now, and they will want to get back to winning ways themselves.

Their tight defence should be enough to see them over the line at Rugby Park, but it will be a closely fought contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Ross County vs. St Johnstone (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Ross County host St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday after ending a run of six straight defeats in all competitions last time out.

St Johnstone are without a win in seven games and could be dragged into the relegation playoff place if they suffer defeat over the weekend.

We say: Ross County 1-1 St Johnstone

Putting back-to-back wins together is something Ross County have not been able to do since the opening two fixtures of the campaign. With so much at stake for both sides, the two could end up cancelling each other out and share a point apiece.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
