Monday's World Cup predictions including Portugal vs. Uruguay

Cameroon vs. Serbia (Monday, 10.00am)

Both beaten in their opening game of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Cameroon and Group G rivals Serbia convene for a crucial clash at Al-Janoub Stadium on Monday.

While the Indomitable Lions were tamed by Switzerland on Thursday afternoon, their European counterparts suffered at the hands of pundits' favourites Brazil; losing 2-0 to the Selecao despite keeping them at bay for an hour. Both now face an almost win-or-bust scenario in Al Wakrah.

We say: Cameroon 1-2 Serbia

Serbia have scored freely in recent times, and after being stymied by one of the World Cup favourites in their opening match can now revert to type by finding the net more than once against lesser opposition.

While they rarely give much away at the back, Cameroon have to push on at some stage in search of three points; leaving the Eagles' talented technicians space to pick them off.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

South Korea vs. Ghana (Monday, 1.00pm)

Ghana are facing the prospect of an early elimination from World Cup 2022 Group H when they travel to the Education City Stadium to face South Korea on Monday.

The Black Stars fell to an agonising 3-2 defeat to Portugal on the opening day, while their Asian counterparts impressively held Uruguay to a goalless draw.

We say: South Korea 1-1 Ghana

Ghana's previous defensive resilience was broken with ease by Portugal, but they demonstrated plenty of attacking nous at the other end and should have no problem troubling this South Korea backline.

Bento's side proved their worth against Uruguay, though, and we can only envisage a closely-fought battle ending with the spoils shared as the race for a top-two spot goes right down to the wire.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Brazil vs. Switzerland (Monday, 4.00pm)

Pre-tournament favourites Brazil face Switzerland in a World Cup Group G clash on Monday at Stadium 974.

With a resounding win in their opening fixture, Brazil lived up to those expectations placed on them before the finals.

We say: Brazil 1-0 Switzerland

Switzerland will be pragmatic and are likely to do a better job than Serbia did of playing defensively against all of Brazil's talented attackers.

Much of this Swiss side played in the meeting of the two countries at Russia 2018, but Brazil look more formidable this time around and should edge it.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Portugal vs. Uruguay (Monday, 7.00pm)

Portugal will enter Monday's Group H contest with Uruguay knowing that a victory would see them qualify for the last-16 stage of the 2022 World Cup with a game to spare.

Fernando Santos's side recorded a 3-2 win over Ghana in their tournament opener on Thursday night, while Uruguay played out a goalless draw with South Korea earlier in the day.

We say: Portugal 2-1 Uruguay

Portugal were defensively vulnerable against Ghana, but their quality in the final third allowed them to pick up a huge three points. Uruguay, on the other hand, found it difficult to create openings against South Korea. Monday's contest should be a close match, but we believe that Portugal will have enough to triumph in order to book their spot in the knockout round of the competition with a match spare.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
