Ashley Young: "It was a magnificent win"

Manchester United winger Ashley Young hails his side's "magnificent" 4-2 win over Manchester City in their derby clash at Old Trafford.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has revealed his delight with his side's derby victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford.

United fell behind to Sergio Aguero's opener, but battled back as Young netted an equaliser before Marouane Fellaini put Louis van Gaal's men ahead before half time.

In the second half, the Red Devils took control as Juan Mata and Chris Smalling put the game beyond the reach of City to secure the victory, despite a late consolation goal from Aguero.

Young told Sky Sports News: "It was a magnificent win today. We knew we had to get three points today and we knew it was going to be a tough game.

"We were disappointed to go a goal down, but we showed that character and that team spirit to get ourselves back in the game."

United moved four points clear of City in third place in the Premier League as a result of their victory.
