Brendan Rodgers confirms Joe Cole, West Ham United talks

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Joe Cole is in talks with West Ham United over a move.

It was reported on Wednesday afternoon that the 31-year-old was nearing a return to Upton Park having left the club for Chelsea in 2003.

"I spoke to Joe twice earlier. He's in talks with West Ham and West Ham have obviously been in contact with the club," Rodgers told Sky Sports News.

"That was earlier on today so I don't know how that materialised. We'll see if something happens on that."

Rodgers was speaking after Liverpool's 3-0 win over Sunderland at Anfield in the Premier League.
