Milanic: 'I need time to implement style'

Leeds United boss Darko Milanic has insisted that he needs time to implement his style at the club following a defeat to Brentford in his first game in charge.

The Bees secured a 2-0 win at Griffin Park thanks to goals from Jota and Alan McCormack.

Milanic feels that his side were never really in the match as they slipped to their fourth defeat of the campaign, and has now pinpointed their clash with Reading at Elland Road next week as a critical game.

He told Sky Sports News: "It was a very difficult game. I expected a game like this against a side with very aggressive forwards. We were not good enough in possession in the first half and were not dangerous.

"I want to play offensive and we played with two strikers today but it's not enough if you don't have offensive thoughts.

"That first game at Elland Road will be very important for us. With support and energy we can make it. But I have to know individual players in the division better and I need time."

Leeds are 13th in the Championship after nine matches this season.
