Jagielka: 'Club have to appoint right man'

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has admitted that it is vital the club choose the "right person" to replace David Moyes.

The Scot has left the Toffees after 11 years at Goodison Park to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, but Jagielka feels that the club are in good shape no matter what.

Jagielka told the club's official website: "I've not got a clue who's going to come in, so it's a case of go away now, we've got the international meet-up next week, so I'll look forward to those games, go on holiday, spend some time with the family and see what the club decide to do." "It's very important the board decide on the right person but there's a great bunch of lads and we've had a great season, playing some great football. "We've maybe been one or two players short of kicking on for the Champions League but it's testament to the boys who have been here that we've been up in the top five or six for pretty much the whole season and we'll look back on the season as a successful one."

Everton finished sixth in the Premier League last season.
