Jackson to Bayern: 'Deal agreed' with Blues as new terms of transfer revealed

Chelsea are said to have agreed to a revised deal with Bayern Munich for Nicolas Jackson, who is set to move to the Bundesliga on an initial loan deal that will become permanent at the end of the season.

The Blues have been among the busiest clubs in the Premier League in regard to both incomings and outgoings, and they have shown no signs of slowing down on deadline day.

Striker Jackson was close to securing a move to Bayern Munich on loan, but Liam Delap's injury against Fulham caused the Londoners to halt his move to Germany.

It was revealed earlier today that the Bavarians and the Blues were in talks in an attempt to resurrect the deal to take the striker to the Bundesliga.

Journalist Matt Law has revealed that Chelsea have agreed to let Jackson leave to join Bayern Munich on loan for a fee of £14.2m, with the German giants also agreeing to sign the forward permanently at the end of the season for a further £56.2m.

Should Chelsea keep Jackson as backup to Joao Pedro?

Jackson has been out of favour under boss Enzo Maresca, and he has not made a single appearance for the club this season following the signings of Joao Pedro and Delap.

Pedro has been used as Chelsea's central striker in 2025-26, but the Blues boss has deployed him alongside Delap in the absence of number 10 Cole Palmer.

Delap is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks, and perhaps keeping Jackson would have been a sensible decision in order to provide cover.

It should be noted that Palmer could return from his groin issue after the September international break, so he will certainly look to claim his starting spot in attacking midfield, which would once again relegate Jackson to the bench.

Chelsea's sales: How much have the Blues earned in the summer transfer window?

Chelsea have often been criticised by rival fans for their expenditure since Todd Boehly took charge of the club in May 2022, with the Londoners dishing out more than £1.5bn in transfer fees.

While the team's spending has been significant, they have also managed to sell a number of players in that time and recoup large sums.

The Blues' net spend this summer is currently only -£59m, a figure that is comfortably lower than the figures posted by Arsenal (-£283.4m) and Manchester United (-£200.8m).

Chelsea have so far raked in £224.2m, and their ability to sell well has allowed them to spend huge sums this summer, funding a significant revamp of Maresca's squad.
