Chelsea's top 10 most expensive signings in their history

Chelsea's most expensive signings ever

Chelsea have just concluded another hectic transfer window where they have acquired as many as 11 new players.

While of the acquisitions in question have since been loaned out, it has been a further example of the lengths that Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are prepared to go to as they look to establish Chelsea as the best club in the world.

In terms of outlay, Joao Pedro is the biggest signing of the summer and the Brazilian is currently tasked with leading Enzo Maresca's frontline.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion star takes his place on the all-time list of Chelsea's most expensive signings, and there is some surprise that he was not dislodged from the list in the near-three months that followed his arrival from the Amex Stadium.

Nevertheless, having been required to comply with UEFA's stringent financial regulations and ensure that they do not record a negative net-spend, Chelsea's business has been shrewd.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the top 10 most expensive signings in Chelsea's history, which have been split over the Roman Abramovich era and the co-ownership of Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
