Bayern Munich will continue their record-breaking pursuit of the Bundesliga title on Saturday, when they face visitors Augsburg at Allianz Arena.
Vincent Kompany's side lead the way in the top flight with 50 points from a possible 54, a league record after 18 matchweeks, whereas their opponents are fourth last in 15th place and only have 16 points.
Match preview
Not only are Bayern on course to break the Bundesliga's record for number of points (91), but they are also on course to score 134 goals, a tally that would far exceed the league record that the Bavarians set in 1971-72 (101).
Kompany's side are 11 points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, so the chances of them being caught are slim, and they will almost certainly claim a 13th title in 14 attempts.
Bayern emerged as 2-0 winners when they faced Union SG on Wednesday in the Champions League, and while they were overwhelming favourites, they should be credited for getting over the line despite Kim Min-Jae's dismissal in the 63rd minute.
The champions' clean sheet on Wednesday was their first in four games, and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three Bundesliga clashes.
Kompany has overseen nine victories and one draw in his last 10 matches as boss, and he will hope his side can extend their five-game winning streak.
Bayern have played 13 times at Allianz Arena this season, and they have emerged as winners in 12 of those matches.
Augsburg drew 2-2 with Freiburg on January 18, a contest in which they squandered a two-goal lead, and they concerningly failed to produce a big chance in the second half.
The visitors are three points above 16th-placed Heidenheim, and the next period of games is crucial considering their three clashes after Saturday come against the current bottom three.
Manager Manuel Baum will know that his team have been defeated in their past seven meetings with Bayern, though they were only narrowly beaten 3-2 when the sides met in August 2025.
Augsburg have drawn their two most recent games, and they are winless in their past five, with the team failing to find the back of the net on three occasions.
Fuggerstadter's performances on their travels have been poor given they have lost five and drawn one of their last six away trips.

Team News
Bayern's Jamal Musiala will likely be eased back into the team, so while he may be provided minutes, fans should not expect him to start ahead of the likes of Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry or Luis Diaz.
Joshua Kimmich is fit to feature, and he is set to play alongside Leon Goretzka in the middle of the pitch.
Kim Min-Jae is certain to be selected considering he cannot play in the Champions League next week, and the centre-back could line up next to Jonathan Tah.
Augsburg may start Yannik Keitel, Keven Schlotterbeck and Cedric Zesiger in central defence given Noah Banks is suspended.
Forwards Fabian Rieder, Alexis Claude-Maurice and Michael Gregoritsch will expect support from midfielders Elvis Rexhbecaj and Han-Noah Massengo.
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Bischof, Tah, Kim, Ito; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Gnabry, Diaz; Kane
Augsburg possible starting lineup:
Dahmen; Keitel, Schlotterbeck, Zesiger; Fellhauer, Rexhbecaj, Massengo, Giannoulis; Rieder, Claude-Maurice; Gregoritsch
We say: Bayern Munich 4-0 Augsburg
With Bayern in such strong form, it is hard to see how Augsburg can get the better of their hosts on Saturday.
The Bavarians are on course to break a number of records, and it would not be surprising if they took another step towards those records with a comfortable win against the visitors.
