James Beattie praises Accrington Stanley team

Accrington Stanley boss James Beattie is confident that his side can survive in League Two this season.

James Beattie has praised his Accrington Stanley side following their 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening.

A late strike from Peter Murphy secured all the points for Accrington, with the result moving Beattie's team into 17th position in the table, six points clear of the League Two relegation zone.

"The lads are starting to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. I couldn't be more proud of my team," he told reporters at a press conference.

"It wasn't the prettiest of games, it was never going to be in the conditions. But we stuck at it and to score so late on was a great feeling."

Accrington return to league action at home to Morecambe at the weekend.
