Sports Mole looks ahead to this weekend's Premier League battle at the bottom of the table between Wigan and Southampton.

Wigan Athletic welcome Southampton to the DW Stadium this Saturday as they attempt to climb back out of the relegation zone.

The Saints have managed to put three points between themselves and the bottom three, despite losing 2-1 to Manchester United in new manager Mauricio Pochettino's second game in charge of the club.

Wigan, who have battled relegation in the last few seasons, will aim to begin an unbeaten run this weekend following their 2-2 draw against Stoke City on Tuesday.

The Latics could start Paul Scharner in defence following his return to the club, while Rickie Lambert is expected to lead the line for the Saints.
