Hellas Verona have seen their winless start to the Serie A season extend to a 14th match after slipping to a 3-2 defeat at Frosinone this afternoon.
With just 19 minutes on the clock Verona were reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Rafael was sent off for elbowing Luca Paganini as he came to claim a set piece.
Pierluigi Gollini was brought on in goal to replace him and face the resulting penalty kick, but he could do nothing to stop Daniel Ciofani firing into the corner to give Frosinone the lead.
Luca Toni soon had a chance to drag Verona back into the match, but after connecting with a corner his header was stopped by the keeper.
However, it was the hosts who scored the next goal as Ciofani arrived to meet Roberto Crivello's cross and powered a header into the corner of the net.
Within minutes of the second half Federico Dionisi added a third for the hosts to seemingly put the game out of reach, before a free kick from Federico Viviani gave Verona some hope of a comeback.
Verona's chances of an unlikely point were raised further six minutes later as Vangelis Moras headed in from a corner, but they were unable to find the back of the net again as they fell to an eighth league defeat of the season.
