Morning all! The focus may be on the start of the Premier League season tomorrow, but there's still plenty of time for clubs to get their transfer business done and dusted. What will today bring?

Let's start by rounding up the headlines from the last few hours:

Ronald Koeman 'really wants' Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar
Paul Lambert not ruling out a move for Carlos Sanchez
Giuseppe Rossi agent rules out Liverpool switch
Report: Nottingham Forest eyeing Nick Powell loan
Garry Monk confirms Federico Fernandez deal

Manchester United are never far away from the transfer gossip pages and it appears that a deal for Real Madrid's Angel di Maria could be on the cards. Reports have claimed that the Argentine is open to joining Manchester United after Paris Saint-Germain described the 26-year-old as "too expensive". Madrid are rumoured to be holding out for a £50m fee.

Staying with Manchester United, and BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage has told Sports Mole that the Red Devils need two or three new players in order to launch a title bid this season. Read what he had had to say here.

Hull City were rumoured to be considering a move for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck, but manager Steve Bruce has rubbished the reports, stating that he is not interested in the England international. Bruce also rejected suggestions that he is looking at Hamburg's Rafael van der Vaart.

Arsenal have already acquired the signatures of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers this summer, but manager Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out signing more players before the window shuts.

DONE DEAL! Let's turn our focus to La Liga for a moment as Barcelona confirm that Gerard Deulofeu has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old Spaniard spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Everton and scored three Premier League goals.

That's all from me for the time being so I shall hand you over to my colleague Darren Plant, who will update you with the latest transfer news for the next three hours.

Many thanks, Danielle! It has been a relatively quiet morning on the transfer front as teams prepare for their fixtures at the weekend, but we have rounded up the latest news and gossip in our lunchtime update here.

I said that it has been a quiet morning but things have hotted up during the past 15 minutes. Striker Nicklas Bendtner, who made just 12 appearances for Arsenal last season, has finally secured a move away from the Emirates Stadium after penning a three-year deal with Wolfsburg.

News from the Championship now, and Brentford have pulled off a bit of a coup after signing Celta Vigo midfielder Jose Peleteiro Ramallo on a three-year deal. The left-sided player made four appearances for the La Liga outfit's first team.

That will be all from me this afternoon. I will now hand you back over to Danielle Joynson, who will take you through the four hours. Enjoy!

Thanks Darren! With clubs preparing for the new Premier League season this weekend, transfer news is at a minimum, but Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has been speaking once again about the club's pursuit of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini. The Uruguayan has insisted that the forward wants to move to the Stadium of Light, despite a delay in the transfer after both clubs agreed a reported £14m fee.

DONE DEAL! Aston Villa confirm the signing of midfielder Carlos Sanchez from Elche on a four-year deal. The Colombian reportedly had a £4m release clause in his contract with the La Liga side.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he will continue to search for a new striker to replace Luis Suarez before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

That's me done for the day, so I shall hand you over to Sian Cowper, who will update you with any transfer news that emerges over the next few hours.

Thanks Danielle. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about the departure of Luis Suarez from Liverpool earlier this summer. The Uruguayan was sold to Barcelona for around £75m, but Rodgers insists that the sale was necessary to fund this summer's new signings.

Barnsley striker Danny Rose has left the club to join League Two's Bury on loan. The 20-year-old will have the chance to join the club on a permanent basis if his loan is a success.

Burnley have made another addition to their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League. The club have announced that they have signed defender Stephen Ward to a three-year contract after agreeing an undisclosed fee with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea striker Victor Moses spent last season playing a limited role on loan at Liverpool. It appears he could be heading out on loan again this year, as the latest reports suggest that he will undergo a medical with Stoke City tomorrow morning.

Southampton striker Morgan Schneiderlin has reportedly been the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but the Saints are keen to keep him at St Mary's. Well there appears to be good news for Southampton fans as manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that the French international has accepted that he will not be sold in this transfer window.

Well that's all from me tonight, but Alex Meyers will be here for the next three hours to keep you up to date with all the latest developments.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks to sign Roma's Mattia Destro. A report has claimed that the Italian club's director Walter Sabatini is in London to negotiate a transfer for the £20m-rated striker.

Norwich City have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Celtic midfielder Kris Commons. The Scotland international bagged 32 goals for the Hoops last season, but it is believed that the Canaries are planning to make a £4m bid to bring him to Carrow Road.

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly keen on signing Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Lassana Diarra. It is believed that the Russian club want to sell the Frenchman due to his high wages.

That's all we've time for from the transfer blog this evening. We will be back later today, as the new Premier League season gets underway. Until next time, goodbye!
