Chicago Fire held to draw at Toronto FC

Chicago Fire have missed the chance to jump into a playoff spot in the MLS Eastern Conference after being held to a 1-1 draw at Toronto FC.

The visitors went ahead in the 20th minute when Dilly Duka stabbed Chris Rolfe's lofted through-ball past Joe Bendik.

However, that lead lasted just three minutes thanks to former Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion striker Robert Earnshaw.

The Welsh international was lurking at the back post when Bobby Convey's cross found its way through a ruck of players, and he kept his composure to finally end his goalscoring drought.

Neither side was able to find a winner before the final whistle, meaning that the Fire are now one point behind New England Revolution and Houston Dynamo.

Meanwhile, the Canadian outfit are in ninth place, nine points behind Columbus Crew.
