Frank Farina sacked by Sydney FC

A-League side Sydney FC announce that they have parted company with manager Frank Farina.

Frank Farina has been sacked from his role as manager of A-League side Sydney FC.

The 49-year-old had come under increasing pressure at the club, and after their exit from the elimination finals last Friday, chairman Scott Barlow has opted to make a change.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Frank joined us as coach in a difficult period last season and has always given his absolute dedication and commitment to the club.

"Frank has shown great integrity and resolve in what has been often challenging circumstances this year.

"I would like to pay tribute to Frank for his professionalism and wish him well for the future."

Farina had guided Sydney to fifth place in the A-League table before last week's defeat to Melbourne Victory.
