Sebastian Larsson: 'We need to start winning'

Larsson: 'We need to start winning'

Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson has conceded that his side need to start turning their draws into victories this season.

The Black Cats drew for the 10th time in the campaign in their 1-1 draw against West Ham United as Jordi Gomez's penalty strike was cancelled out by Stewart Downing.

Jozy Altidore had an excellent chance to hand Sunderland the lead before the break, while Connor Wickham saw a late effort in the second half well saved by Adrian as Gus Poyet's side were held to a point.

Larsson told BBC Sport: "We took the lead and conceded a deflected goal. I don't know how many shots we had but we need to hit the target more than we did.

"We know we are tough to beat but we need to be winning. Credit to West Ham, they are doing well at the moment but I thought we should have won that game."

Sunderland are 15th in the Premier League following their draw against the Hammers.
