Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor is not included in Andre Villas-Boas's 18-man squad for today's match with Queens Park Rangers, while Gareth Bale starts at left-back.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has not recovered from his hamstring injury in time for today's Premier League clash with Queens Park Rangers at White Hart Lane.

The 28-year-old missed Thursday night's goalless draw against Lazio in the Europa League and his continued absence means that Jermain Defoe will lead the line for the hosts once again.

Gareth Bale starts at left-back in the absence of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Kyle Naughton, who are both injured.

Brad Friedel returns in goal, despite Hugo Lloris recording Spurs' first clean sheet of the season in midweek.

Meanwhile, Hoops boss Mark Hughes makes three changes to his starting XI following last weekend's 0-0 draw against Chelsea.

Clint Hill, Nedum Onuoha and Junior Hoilett replace Fabio, Anton Ferdinand and Andy Johnson.

Spurs: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Bale, Sandro, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Lennon, Defoe
Subs: Lloris, Caulker, Dawson, Huddlestone, Falque, Mason, Townsend

QPR: Cesar; Bosingwa, Onuoha, Nelsen, Hill; Park, Faurlin, Granero; Wright-Phillips, Hoilett, Zamora
Subs: Green, Diakite, Derry, Cisse, Mackie, Dyer, Ehmer
