Kane vows to 'stay grounded'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has promised to 'stay grounded', despite being tipped to become a future England star.

The 21-year-old launched into the spotlight this season after his prolific form in front of goal earned him a regular first-team role with Spurs and his first senior international cap.

Kane, who will lead the line for the England Under-21s in this summer's European Championships, scored the only goal in Tottenham's end-of-season friendly against Sydney in Australia on Saturday.

Despite the hype surrounding him, the young striker has vowed to keep his feet on the ground and continue to work hard.

"The prospect of being England's main striker for the next 10 years? I hope so," the Daily Mail quotes Kane as saying. "It's a big compliment [hearing people say that] and that is how you have to look at it.

"All I can do is keep focused. If I keep working hard, staying grounded and doing the right things then I will have a better chance of achieving those things people are predicting for me. I can't look too far ahead, I just have to concentrate to on doing my best for the team."

The U21 Euros will begin on June 17.
