It is not yet known exactly why the La Roja fans have attacked the centre, but various reports have claimed that the Chile followers raided the press room and wrecked the facility.

The police have been called to the scene after the fans broke down a barrier to invade the area, while security at the stadium tried to round up a number of troublemakers.

According to Associated Press, the havoc was caused by Chile fans who were trying to get into the stadium without tickets.
