Konoplyanka 'wants to stay at Dnipro'

The father of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yevhen Konoplyanka has claimed that his son "probably won't" sign for Roma.

Yesterday it was reported that the 25-year-old was on the verge of joining the Italians, but it now appears that a deal is unlikely.

"He probably won't sign the contract with Roma," Oleg Konoplyanka told ANSA.

"What I can say is that Roma would really like him to sign it, but my son wants to stay at Dnipro until June and then leave.

"He wants to stay and I think he will very probably remain here until his contract expires."

Konoplyanka has spent his entire career at Dnipro and has played nearly 200 games for the club.
