Cristiano Ronaldo hit with lighter as he leaves pitch

Cristiano Ronaldo had to receive treatment at half time after a lighter was thrown at him as he left the pitch during Real Madrid's Copa del Rey semi-final with Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese forward had earlier scored twice from the penalty spot as Los Blancos took a 5-0 aggregate lead against their local rivals at Vicente Calderon.

However, as he made his way back to the changing rooms at the interval a supporter threw the missile at the Ballon d'Or winner's head.

Ronaldo was booked on the stroke of half time after a coming together with Atleti's Manquillo, and the forward was apologising to the defender shortly before he was struck.
