Reading's Brian McDermott refutes Danny Welbeck loan link

McDermott denies Welbeck interest

Reading manager Brian McDermott has insisted that he has no intention of bringing Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck to the Madejski Stadium on loan.

The England international was believed to be the subject of an approach by the former Championship side regarding a temporary move but McDermott has refuted the rumours.

"I can't see Sir Alex Ferguson sending Danny out to any club," BBC Sport quotes McDermott as saying. "I don't know where this has came from, it's got nothing to do with me."

Welbeck has failed to cement a regular spot in the United first team this season due to the capture of Robin van Persie in the summer.
