Memphis Depay stars in penultimate PSV Eindhoven appearance

Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven cruised to a 2-0 win over Heracles at Philips Stadion this afternoon.

Memphis Depay, whose summer transfer to Manchester United was confirmed earlier this week, struck his 22nd goal of the campaign just after the half-hour mark with an unstoppable free kick.

Adam Maher nearly doubled the advantage for the champions with a fierce effort that struck the post before the interval.

Jetro Willems made it 2-0 after the hour mark with a smart finish as PSV began to exert their dominance over the visitors.

Depay, who was replaced by Rai Vloet, was afforded a standing ovation from the PSV supporters as he made his final appearance at the Philips Stadion.

The victory leaves PSV 14 points clear in the Eredivisie table ahead of the final round of fixtures next week.
