Preston North End boss Simon Grayson praises his side's attitude in their 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has declared that he can take plenty of positives from their opening match of the season - a hard-fought goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Grayson started striker Kevin Davies in the League One opener, and the veteran coming closest to breaking the deadlock at Deepdale on his debut.

He told BBC Sport: "It was a good opening-day fixture for us. There was a lot of endeavour and a good attitude from both sets of players.

"The first thing you want to do in the first game of the season is not get beat, although obviously you'll try to win the game, hence why I went to 4-4-2 for the last five minutes.

"We can be really pleased with how we performed."

The home side edged possession in a tight clash, with both sides eventually settling for a point apiece to start the new campaign.
