Columbus Crew leave it late to net winner against Philadelphia Union

Columbus Crew scored a stoppage-time winner as they edged out Philadelphia Union 2-1 in the MLS this evening.

Crew had an early lead when Jairo Arrieta coolly rounded the goalkeeper to slot into an empty net, moments after he had rattled the post with a half-volley.

Arrieta had a chance to double his tally in the second period but he was unable to make a clean connection when well placed three minutes after the restart.

The visitors thought that they had secured a point when Zach Pfeffer netted with four minutes of normal time remaining.

However, there was to be one last twist, and Crew claimed the points thanks to Bernardo Anor's late effort to make it three straight wins.
