Dougie Freedman has to "pinch" himself over Nottingham Forest job

Dougie Freedman says that he has to "pinch" himself whenever he thinks about the fact that he is Nottingham Forest manager.

New Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has said that he has to pinch himself whenever he thinks about his latest job.

A former Forest player, Freedman succeeded club legend Stuart Pearce at the City Ground earlier this month on a contract until the end of the season.

He recorded victory in his first game in charge at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday and is now looking forward to his first home game against Wigan Athletic tomorrow night.

"I have to pinch myself when I think that I'm the manager of Nottingham Forest but it is a moment that I've worked very hard for over the years," Freedman told the club website.

"It is going to be a massively proud moment for me and for my family but I'm a professional manager and I've got to make sure that I concentrate on the job."

With Forest's game against Wigan the only match on Wednesday, Freedman could find his side within seven points of the drop zone by kickoff as the other 22 sides play tonight.
