Newcastle complete deal to sign defender Kevin Mbabu from Servette

Newcastle United have completed the signing of defender Kevin Mbabu for an undisclosed fee from Swiss side Servette.

The 17-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at St James' Park and is the sixth player to join the Magpies this month.

"I've always wanted to sign for a club in the Premier League and Newcastle is one of the biggest there is," Mbabu told the club's official website.

"I want to finish my development here with the reserves before one day training with the first team and hopefully breaking into the first team."

Mbabu made one appearance for the Servette first team this season in the Swiss Super League.
