Alan Smith close to MK Dons move

Newcastle United midfielder Alan Smith is reportedly close to a move to MK Dons.

The 31-year-old will join the League One side on loan until the end of the season when his contract ends, according to Goal.com.

The former England international moved to the Sports Direct Arena in 2007 from Manchester United.

However, Smith had only featured a handful of times for the Magpies since his switch from Old Trafford.
