Virgin Money to sponsor Newcastle

Newcastle United have signed a new two-and-a-half-year shirt deal with Virgin Money.

The company logo will be worn on the players' shirts for the first time during tonight's match against Manchester United, according to BBC Sport.

Troubled bank Northern Rock had previously sponsored the Magpies since 2003.

Virgin Money have promised new shirts for the first 10,000 fans who bring their old ones to this evening's fixture at the Sports Direct Arena.
