Alan Pardew: 'Good form will attract players'

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew reveals that his side have to continue their good run of form to be capable of attracting better players in January.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that if his side keep up their level of form they will be able to attract better players in January.

The Magpies have recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League over Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to move to ninth in the table, just four points adrift of the Champions League places.

Pardew told reporters: "It's important that we keep our results strong for keeping our players in January, but also to attract maybe one or two new ones.

"There have been many times, even before I was manager here, when this club has shot itself in the foot when it gets in a great position.

"It's very important that we show the consistency on Saturday for our fans and bring a performance here that backs up Chelsea and Spurs."

Newcastle face Norwich City at St James' Park later today.
