Newcastle United boss John Carver denies fan argument

Newcastle United manager John Carver plays down a row with one of the club's supporters during his side's 3-2 defeat to Swansea City.

Newcastle United manager John Carver has denied getting into a heated argument with a supporter from the dugout during his side's 3-2 defeat to Swansea City at St James' Park.

The Magpies lost for the seventh game on the spin on Saturday to leave them in danger of falling into the relegation battle at the foot of the table.

A Newcastle fan claimed that Carver swore at him as he questioned the 50-year-old, but the Magpies boss has played down the incident, insisting that he can take the criticism.

He told reporters: "Yes, I am getting stick from the crowd and I can take all that.

"I'll take that on the chin, I'll explain to people why I do things - I don't have a problem with that.

"If anybody wants to talk me about it, I will talk to them about it. But I won't give up on it and I will fight to the end."

Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
