Cheick Tiote injured in Newcastle United warm-up

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote will miss his side's clash against Leicester City after injuring himself in the warm-up and will be replaced by Vurnon Anita.

Newcastle United have announced that Cheick Tiote has sustained an injury in the warm-up ahead of their clash against Leicester City and will miss the match at St James' Park.

Kickoff was delayed until 4pm in the clash due to problems with the scoreboard inside the ground, and as a result the players were late in emerging for their pre-match warm-ups.

Tiote sustained a minor injury in the activities and has been forced to pull out of the fixture. He has been replaced by fellow midfielder Vurnon Anita, whose place on the bench has been taken by Facundo Ferreyra.
