Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Montpellier

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Montpellier.

Bordeaux vs. Metz (Sunday, 12.00pm)

With just eight games left to play in the fight for survival, the two bottom sides in the Ligue 1 table will do battle on Sunday, as Bordeaux welcome Metz to the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Having both experienced long winless runs to be cut adrift, a loser would likely find themselves all but condemned to relegation.

We say: Bordeaux 2-1 Metz

While both sides are lacking form, Bordeaux should take confidence from their solid display against Lille, and we back them to build on that with a crucial win.

Guion's side will feel they do have the ability to escape their poor predicament, provided they can leapfrog Metz with a win at the weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Angers vs. Lille (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Defending champions Lille will aim to break back into the top six of the Ligue 1 table on Sunday, when they travel to Angers.

After a strong run of form, the visitors were left disappointed by a stalemate with Bordeaux last weekend, while their opponents were narrowly beaten by Lyon.

We say: Angers 1-2 Lille

With their top-four hopes having taken a hit due to the draw with Bordeaux, Lille will be particularly determined to get back to winning ways, and we see them returning home with all three points.

The win over Brest and performance against Lyon do shown signs of encouragement in the Angers camp, but Baticle's team may again fall short against a side full of quality.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Brest vs. Nantes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two sides batting in the middle of the Ligue 1 table will square off on Sunday, as Brest entertain Nantes.

Having both enjoyed wins last weekend, they have climbed to 12th and eighth spots respectively in the French top flight.

We say: Brest 1-2 Nantes

In what will be a closely-fought game that could definitely go either way, we just give the edge to the visitors.

Nantes have more to play for in the final run of the season, and they will hope to give their unlikely top-six bid another boost with a three-point haul.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Monaco vs. Troyes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Monaco are bidding to break into the top five by the end of the season, currently sitting sixth and four points behind a Europa Conference League place in Ligue 1.

Troyes are the visitors to the Stade Louis II on Sunday, and they sit in 15th spot and need to secure a few more points to ensure that they are safe from relegation, currently just five points ahead of 18th.

We say: Monaco 2-0 Troyes

After two positive results and being back on home soil, Monaco are strong favourites for this encounter and they should find no problems in getting past Troyes.

The visitors have been on a good run of form, but many of those games came against teams around them in the table, so coming up against a side fighting for a European spot will be a more difficult test.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Lens vs. Nice (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Nice have eight more games to secure their spot in Ligue 1's top five, but while they occupy a Europa Conference League qualification spot, they have their eyes set on a Champions League place, currently sitting just two points behind third spot.

Lens welcome Nice to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday, with the hosts in 10th place and seven points behind their visitors, meaning that three points for Lens this weekend could reignite their hopes of European football next year.

We say: Lens 1-1 Nice

Nice have shown signs that they may not be able to keep hold of their current fifth spot, and Lens have the capabilities to make this a difficult outing for the visitors.

These meetings between Lens and Nice have been close in recent years and that is why this encounter is likely to be a draw, as nothing seems to have changed between the two teams.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Strasbourg vs. Lyon (Sunday, 6.00pm)

Strasbourg welcome ninth-placed Lyon to the Stade de la Meinau on Sunday, and they enter the encounter in good form, having lost just once in their last 12 games in Ligue 1

The visitors are currently six points behind the top five and fourth-placed Strasbourg, meaning that there is a lot of pressure on Lyon to win this weekend to avoid losing more ground on their opponents.

We say: Strasbourg 2-1 Lyon

Strasbourg have had a longer rest ahead of this game, and that could be a decisive factor in the result on Sunday, with the game also being played on Strasbourg's home turf.

The hosts are in good form and while Lyon are certain to cause them problems with the quality at their disposal, Strasbourg are likely to come out on top given their extra rest and superior league position.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Marseille vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Marseille's Arkadiusz Milik celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on March 20, 2022© Reuters

Marseille are looking to extend their current three-point lead on third-placed Rennes this weekend, when they welcome Montpellier HSC to the Orange Velodrome.

The hosts are in fine form having won six consecutive matches in all competitions ahead of this outing, while Montpellier are aiming to bounce back after defeat last time out.

We say: Marseille 2-0 Montpellier HSC

Marseille will be full of confidence after a good run of results, and they will look to capitalise on Montpellier's not-so-good run of form.

The hosts usually score more than one goal in a single game which is why they are likely to get on the scoresheet a couple of times, while Montpellier could struggle to create chances against a side that is going to dominate possession.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.
