Man Utd transfer news: Attacker 'wants' Old Trafford stay - should the Red Devils sell him?

Man Utd attacker 'wants' Old Trafford stay amid exit links

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee reportedly wants to remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact since joining from Bologna in the summer of 2024, registering nine goals and four assists in 69 appearances across all competitions.

Zirkzee has made just four starts in the Premier League this season, and his situation has shown little improvement despite the managerial change from Ruben Amorim to Michael Carrick.

Although he remained at the club in January, the Dutch international continues to be linked with a summer exit, with Juventus among the interested parties.

Joshua Zirkzee keen to stay at Old Trafford?

According to the Daily Mail, however, Zirkzee is keen to stay and fight for his place at Mna Utd.

The club strengthened their attacking options last summer with the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha, but Zirkzee’s camp believes no further reinforcements will be made in that department.

With United currently third in the league table and on course for European qualification, Zirkzee is confident that he will receive increased opportunities next season.

Will Zirkzee leave Man Utd in the summer?

Despite Zirkzee's technical quality, concerns remain over his lack of pace and mobility, which have limited his effectiveness in English football.

Given the need to raise funds, the Red Devils may still consider offloading the Dutch forward as part of a wider squad overhaul.

Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Manuel Ugarte and Andre Onana are expected to depart, and Zirkzee could yet be included in that list.

Strengthening the midfield and defence will be top priorities for Man Utd this summer, although the club may still look to further reinforce their attacking options.
