Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rangers all reportedly missed out on signing French attacker Bilal Brahimi in January, who instead joined Nice for €10m (£8.5m).

Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rangers all reportedly missed out on signing French attacker Bilal Brahimi in January.

Just six months after joining Angers from Reims, the 21-year-old has made the switch to fellow Ligue 1 outfit Nice on a permanent deal worth around €10m (£8.5m).

However, TEAMtalk reports that Brahimi had attracted interest from a number of clubs in England and Scotland, including Leeds, Wolves and Rangers, but all three were beaten by Nice to his signature.

The report adds that Nice moved for Brahimi after failing in their attempts to lure Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard to the South of France.

Brahimi joined Middlesbrough's academy as a 17-year-old and made just one senior appearance in August 2018, before moving back to his homeland with Reims, where he also struggled to gain first-team football.

The French Under-19 international then enjoyed a loan spell with Le Mans last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in 34 appearances, and despite failing to score with Angers this term, his form with Le Mans seems to have caught the eye of Nice, where the attacker has now committed his future to until June 2026.
