Preview: Manchester United vs. Burnley

Man Utd vs. Burnley

Manchester United will be eager to get back to winning ways on Wednesday night when strugglers Burnley make the trip to Old Trafford in the Premier League.

The Red Devils slipped down to fourth place in the table at the weekend with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United.

However, manager Louis van Gaal admitted his relief after the match as a late goal from Daley Blind salvaged United a share of the spoils in East London.

The former champions currently have the second-best home record in top flight, taking 28 from a possible 36. Only Chelsea have yielded more points in front of their own fans.

Burnley are one point clear of the drop zone after drawing 2-2 at home to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend. The Clarets threw away a two-goal lead at Turf Moor, but manager Sean Dyche is likely to be satisfied that his side put an end to a run of three straight defeats.

Just one victory on the road all season tells you that Burnley will find it difficult at the Theatre of Dreams, though a shock victory could send the away team as high as 14th place in the standings.

The visitors can also take some encouragement from the fact that they held United to a goalless draw when the sides met at the start of the campaign.

Michael Carrick is sidelined for the hosts with a calf problem, while Luke Shaw misses out through suspension. Marouane Fellaini could be given a starting berth after impressing off the bench against West Ham.

Having named the same starting XI for the last five games in a row, it would be no surprise to see the visitors go unchanged again. However, the likes of Steven Reid, Michael Kightly and Sam Vokes could feature.
