Ashley Young happy to take on versatile role for Manchester United, England

Young happy to take on versatile role

Ashley Young has acknowledged that he is happy to be regarded as a "versatile player" for both Manchester United and England.

Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Young has established himself as a key member of the United squad, with the wideman being used at full-back for the majority of this season.

Young's performances have resulted in a recall to the Three Lions squad, and he has suggested that he had few issues with adapting to his new position.

The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's winger to wing-back to full-back now. It's one of those things, nowadays you get players that are versatile and I feel like I am one of them.

"I think if you've got a good football brain, then you are able to adapt. I think I've shown that this season and whenever the manager calls upon me, I go out and give 100%."

Young made his first international appearance in four years when England played out a goalless draw with Brazil in November.
