Louis van Gaal: 'I want to form best team in the world at Manchester United'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is determined to turn his team into the best side in the world during his reign at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has outlined his ambition to turn his side into the best team in the world.

The Red Devils have shown gradual improvement under the Dutchman following an inconsistent start to his reign as United are unbeaten in their last 11 matches, and have pulled within nine points of Chelsea and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

However, the 63-year-old is determined to make his team feared throughout the world, and feels that his side could dominate the top flight in the near future.

He told reporters: "My ambition is that I have the best players who can collaborate with each other to form the best team of the world. No one club in the Premier League shall win every game, but maybe Manchester United can.

"That's always our goal, but it also the goal of Jose Mourinho and also the goal of other managers - [Manuel] Pellegrini or [Ronald] Koeman or [Arsene] Wenger for example."

United are in action on Sunday in the Premier League against Southampton.
