Wayne Rooney has backed Manchester United to react positively after losing the Premier League title to rivals Manchester City last season.
The Red Devils were pipped by City on the final day of the campaign thanks to a stoppage time strike from Argentine international Sergio Aguero.
However, Rooney believes that the setback will provoke a strong reaction from his teammates next season.
"We'll be back, no worries about that, we'll be back stronger," he told the club's official website. "Of course, you wish it hadn't happened like that for our fans.
"For us as players, it was sickening really to lose the title like that."
Earlier today it was confirmed that Rooney would miss England's upcoming friendly against Norway through injury.
