Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he is considering a role in coaching once his playing career is finished.
The 33-year-old said that it has taken time for the idea to appeal to him, but believes that he would relish the opportunity to become a coach.
"As the months and years have gone by I think I have come round to the idea of doing some sort of coaching or being a manager," the Daily Mail quotes Ferdinand as saying.
"Obviously I love football and all the tactics but I also think I would like the day-to-day responsibility of cajoling players and bringing the best out of them. Man-management is so important these days. I think I would love that side of it."
Ferdinand was recently left out of Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad for Euro 2012.
