How Manchester United could line up against Barcelona

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Barcelona.

Manchester United welcome Barcelona to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening for arguably the pick of the Champions League quarter-final ties.

The Red Devils have stuttered in recent weeks but the feel-good factor still remains following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who masterminded the incredible last-16 comeback away to Paris Saint-Germain.

After a full week's rest between games, United will know the importance of taking a positive result into the return match at Camp Nou next Tuesday.

Ahead of the sides' first meeting since the 2011 final, which Barcelona won 3-1, Sports Mole looks at how Solskjaer could set out his side.

United were without a number of first-team players for last month's trip to the Parc des Princes, making their 3-1 win all the more remarkable.

Solskjaer can welcome back Paul Pogba from suspension for this showdown with Barcelona, while Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are all back from injury.

Rashford missed the 2-1 loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers last week because of an ankle problem, however, and Herrera also sat that one out with a knock.

Both men have played a big part under United's resurgence under Solskjaer, so it would not be a surprise to see the Norwegian gamble on their fitness if he has to.

That will allow the hosts to use their favoured three-man midfield of Pogba, Matic and Herrera, while Romelu Lukaku is back available up top to partner Rashford.

Lukaku scored with both of his shots against PSG in the last round, having previously failed to score with any of his previous eight shots in the Champions League this season.
