Liverpool 'to begin negotiations with Barcelona over signing of Ousmane Dembele'

Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of opening talks with Barcelona regarding the acquisition of Ousmane Dembele.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be an admirer of the 21-year-old, who moved to Camp Nou from Borussia Dortmund for in excess of £100m last summer.

The attacker's first season did not quite go to plan, partly due to injury and partly due to lack of consistent form.

In total, Dembele, who spent a season at Dortmund before making the move to Spain, made just 17 appearances and scored three goals, but questions have been raised over his attitude.

Despite this, Don Balon reports that Liverpool are keen to sign the attacker and are prepared to open negotiations regarding a summer transfer.

The Reds are currently preparing for Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev.
