Liverpool lineup vs. Leeds: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Mohamed Salah, Federico Chiesa start

Salah returns, Chiesa starts: Predicted Liverpool XI vs. Leeds

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is in line to return to the first XI when the Reds meet Leeds United in Saturday's Premier League showdown at Elland Road.

The Egypt international has failed to make Arne Slot's starting lineup in either of the last two games with West Ham United or Sunderland, although he replaced Cody Gakpo at half time in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with the latter.

With a tight turnaround to navigate, it would not be a surprise to see Dominik Szoboszlai granted a hard-earned rest, allowing Salah to strut his stuff on the right-hand side.

Florian Wirtz will no doubt be retained in attack after his crucial contribution in midweek, but both Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa - whose goal-line clearance denied Sunderland all three points at Anfield - can feel hopeful of coming in for Alexander Isak and Gakpo respectively.

Curtis Jones - who played a key role in Nordi Mukiele's own goal on Wednesday - is also a candidate to start, potentially in midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch as Alexis Mac Allister makes way.

Jones replaced Joe Gomez at right-back against the Black Cats, and the latter will likely not be considered for a third start in the space of a week, but Conor Bradley may return from a muscular problem to displace the Englishman.

Jeremie Frimpong will miss out with a hamstring problem, though, while ACL victim Giovanni Leoni faces a race against time to play again before the season is over.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:

Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Wirtz, Chiesa; Ekitike
