Jordan Rossiter: 'Debut goal was a dream come true'

Liverpool teenager Jordan Rossiter admits that scoring on his first-team debut against Middlesbrough was a "dream come true".

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Rossiter has revealed that he was surprised to earn a start for the first team at the age of 17.

Rossiter netted 10 minutes into his debut in the League Cup win over Middlesbrough at Anfield, and the England Under-18 international has admitted that the whole occasion was a "dream come true".

The teenager told Sky Sports News: "Scoring in the first 20 minutes on my first start really was a dream come true.

"I found out that I was playing during training on Tuesday. I was a bit shocked but I couldn't wait to get out there."

Liverpool progressed through to the last 16 after edging out the Championship outfit following a marathon penalty shootout that ended 14-13 after 30 spot kicks.
