Brendan Rodgers declared that his side produced an "outstanding" performance after Liverpool came from 2-1 down to beat West Ham United.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has declared that his side fully deserved to beat West Ham United this afternoon.

The Hammers led 2-1 going into the closing stages but the Reds rallied to claim an important three points.

Rodgers believes that Liverpool have finally produced the kind of performance that he feels they are capable of.

He told Sky Sports News: "It was a brilliant win for us. West Ham have been terrific this year. Sam has done a great job. I thought our team were outstanding.

"We were unfortunate to concede the penalty, I don't know what Joe Allen can do to avoid that. Maybe the roar of the crowd made the referee change his mind, and it was a very harsh decision for us.

"We've threatened to score three, four and five goals through most of this season, but through not being ruthless or having bad luck we haven't scored as many as we would have liked."

Victory against West Ham helped the Reds climb to tenth in the table, their highest league position of the season.
