England boss Gareth Southgate is reportedly ready to hand an international recall to Liverpool defender Joe Gomez for the upcoming games with Spain and Switzerland.

England boss Gareth Southgate has reportedly decided to recall Joe Gomez to the Three Lions squad.

Gomez sustained an ankle injury towards the end of last season, and it resulted in the 21-year-old missing out on the Champions League final with Liverpool and the World Cup with England.

However, Gomez has since regained full fitness and has helped the Merseyside giants keep clean sheets in the opening Premier League fixtures against West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

According to The Mirror, that has been enough to convince Southgate to reintroduce the versatile defender back into the group for the upcoming games with Spain and Switzerland.

Gomez has earned three caps for his country, with the player helping England prevent Germany, Brazil and the Netherlands all from scoring in friendlies during the last campaign.
