Brendan Rodgers hails "superb" Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers lauds his "superb" team in light of their 5-0 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has expressed his delight with his team's 5-0 victory over 10-man Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this evening.

Luis Suarez inspired the Reds to the rout in North London, bagging a brace while setting up Raheem Sterling for the fifth goal, with Paulinho sent off for a challenge on the Uruguayan.

Jordan Henderson and Jon Flanagan also got their name on the scoresheet to inflict yet another heavy defeat on Andre Villas-Boas's men, less than a month after they went down 6-0 to Manchester City.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Rodgers said: "It was a brilliant all-round performance. The players worked tirelessly. The level of football was superb.

"We got five goals and arguably we could have had seven or eight. That's the beauty of team, it has goals in it."

The Merseyside outfit now sit two points off Arsenal at the summit of the Premier League.
